Dr Helen Ferrara, Perth, WA
My forte is communication - I love weaving meaning with words, and since 1985 I have worked with groups and individuals, mentoring, teaching, tutoring, editing, and facilitating, to help them become more and more who they want to be. All of this has led me to develop a holistic perspective that is questioning and open to renewal, but at the same time can precisely focus on the details.
In 2011 I completed a PhD on creativity, an in-depth scholarly process that was the experience of a lifetime. I emerged from it with the deep conviction that we have an innate impulse to thrive rather than just survive, but we need to express ourselves creatively to be able to do this, and so nurturing is hugely important.
CreativeNurture is the platform through which I offer my services as a Creativity and Welbeing Mentor by utilising varying creative techniques and practices in a diverse number of ways, including individual or group sessions and workshops. In each of these a safe space is established to facilitate your journey of discovery enabling you to make use of your unique gifts and talents in any area of life that you would like to focus on.
My PhD thesis - "Nurturing Creativity: A journey of personal transformation" is available online at the Murdoch Research Repository at : http://researchrepository.murdoch.edu.au/8286/
I have recently had a chapter published - Authetic Teaching in Ways of Being in Teaching: Conversations and Reflections by Sense Publishers:
